DelSuites Turns 20 Years Old!

November 15, 2018

DelSuites Turns 20DelSuites Turns 20!

In October 2018, DelSuites turns 20 – reaching a milestone. Our company has been around for a full two decades. On the year DelSuites launched, Titanic was dominating at the Oscars, the first Apple iMac was released, the last episode of “Seinfeld” aired, and Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were still a thing.

Crazy, huh?

Looking back over the years, we are incredibly grateful for all of the wonderful guests and clients we have been able to work with. It’s a thrill DelSuites turns 20 and to be able to be part of the serviced apartment industry in Toronto and we’ve learned so much – so thank you.

DelSuites Turns 20

Oakwood Worldwide 2017 Partner Award

We’re also honoured by the awards that we have received over the last few years, including:

  • Oakwood Worldwide 2017 Partner Award – DelSuites had the highest guest satisfaction across their internal and client surveys. ‘DelSuites always works diligently to serve our guests and their Guest Services jumps on the service issues if they arise. They are all around great suppliers to work with’ – Oakwood Worldwide Employee.
  • TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence (5 years running!)
  • CHPA (Best Green Progress) 2017 – The Best Green Progress Award recognizes a company exemplifying environmental responsibility and social performance through policies, plans and activities.

During the last 20 years, we’ve grown to become the largest serviced housing provider in Toronto with over 450 suites throughout the Greater Toronto Area. We are part of the Tridel Group of Companies, Canada’s leader in condo living.

Not bad for a 20 year old!

What Will the Future Bring?

Like many 20 year olds out there, we feel like this is the beginning of our story and we are just getting started.
Here’s what you can expect from us at DelSuites in the future:

Support for Causes We Believe In

DelSuites Turns 20

Toronto Humane Society

From donating towels and linens to Anguilla to support hurricane relief efforts, to providing blankets and bed sheets for animals at the Toronto Humane Society, to donating linens and towels to a primary school in Jamaica, we have always made the effort to support causes that are close to our hearts. We will continue in the future, as this is really important to our company values.

Commitment to Sustainability

We will continue to care about the environment. In 2017, we combined offices with our sister company Del Condominium Rentals and underwent office renovations at Tridel’s Head Office – to ensure that our working environment is sustainable as possible. We cut down our paper consumption by 75%, switched to LED light bulbs, implemented Eco Pens and made many other tweaks to reduce our carbon footprint.

Improving Customer Satisfaction

Our customers are really important to us, so we are always working to improve our customer satisfaction. We do this in a number of ways, including our Preventative Maintenance program that inspects suites regularly to keep them in tip-top shape. We’ve also launched our Guest Appreciation Program, where we thank our guests with a thoughtful gift and let them know how much we appreciate their business.

Cheers to another 20 years!

DeSuites Turns 20We are always looking to the future and thinking about how we can be the best company we can be… so we are pretty excited to see what the future will bring! Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning, or we have just met… we send a sincere “Thank You” your way. We couldn’t do it without you!

Delsuites New Location – The Livmore

October 16, 2018

The LivmoreAdding a new building to our collection of locations throughout Toronto is always a thrill, and this one is no exception. Recently launched, The Livmore captures all of the best aspects of life in urban Toronto.

With a range of studio, one, two and three bedroom floor plans, these “refined residential rentals” have everything you need for a comfortable, convenient and chic stay in Toronto.

About The Livmore

The Livmore will cater to young professionals, business travelers and anyone who is seeking temporary The Livmorehousing in Toronto with a condominium lifestyle for stays of 30 nights or longer. The suites sizes range from 388 Sq. Ft (Studio) up to 1100 Sq. Ft (3-Bedroom) and are designed to let plenty of natural light in – creating a bright and spacious atmosphere.

The building is designed with a range of high quality amenities – including a two-storey sky lounge on the 26th floor, an outdoor terrace with barbeques and fireplaces on the 5th floor and a gym and fitness area. Residents can admire the view, or stretch out and relax in the yoga and aerobics studio.

The party room is a space ideal for hosting private functions – with kitchen facilities and plenty of space. There’s also a theatre/screening room and a game room (it’s hard to be bored during a stay here!).

The LivmoreThe Livmore has been designed with sustainability in mind. Everything is modern and high quality – from the furnishings to the appliances to the bathroom fixtures. Staying in a furnished apartment like this means that you’ll have all of the luxuries of a high end hotel (such as fitness facilities, media room, sky lounge, etc.) yet you’ll also enjoy the space and added comforts of home (such as your own kitchen and living space.)

Why We Love The Livmore

There are so many reasons why we are thrilled to announce this new building. First of all, there’s the location. It’s right on the corner of Bay & Gerrard in downtown Toronto, located in the heart of some of the city’s best nightlife, shopping and dining.

You’ll be within walking distance from some of the best attractions in the city, including the Toronto Eaton Centre, Yonge Dundas Square and Toronto Hospitals. This is also a prime location for business travelers, as it is centrally located.

The LivmoreSecondly, there’s the fact that the Livmore is pet friendly. So, if you travel with your furry friend you’ll be welcome here. There’s even an outdoor green space, known as the “Bark Park,” where dogs can come out and play. How great is that?

Want to learn more about the building? Check out our Livmore page, or contact us with your questions – we are happy to help!

Toronto Neighbourhood Spotlight: Greektown

May 4, 2018

GreektownToronto is a delightfully diverse city and its many neighbourhoods reveal cultural influences from around the world.  Let’s take a close look at one of those exciting neighbourhoods – Greektown.

Introduction

Greektown, also known as the Danforth, is a neighborhood in Toronto located on Danforth Avenue between Dewhurst Blvd and Chester Avenue. This was one of the main settlements of Greek immigrants in Toronto after World War I. Several scenes in the film My Big Fat Greek Wedding were filmed here.

If you love Greek cuisine, you’ll want to head down to this part of town. It has one of the highest concentrations of dining establishments per kilometre of any other neighborhood on the planet, showcasing mostly delicious traditional Mediterranean dishes. If you visit during the Taste of the Danforth festival in mid-August you can enjoy yummy samples of cuisines from all of the restaurants along this street – not just Greek food but also Indian, Chinese, Thai, Japanese and much more.

Must Visit Spots in Greektown

  • Start with a great coffee at Broadview Espresso, where you can lean back on the comfy Muskoka chair on the outdoor patio and enjoy a high quality latte.
  • The Carrot Commons on Jackman Street is a busy avenue filled with cafes, bookstores and a funky organic food market.

Greektown

  • Shopping for cute clothes? Social Butterfly is a chic little shop with a great selection of jewellery, denim, boots, footwear and more.
  • Get your fill of big tasty Greek gyros at Messini Authentic Gyros.
  • If you want to enjoy Greek cuisine in a more sophisticated, sit-down setting you can treat yourself to a meal at Mezes. It’s a busy spot with a welcoming vibe and a heated patio. They serve up the dishes that you would find in any traditional greek home, with fresh, quality ingredients.
  • If you are a music geek, you will fall in love with the huge collection of new and old vinyl at Mike’s Music.
  • In the mood for some live music? The Danforth Music Hall is a fantastic venue that showcases a range of great talent. Check to see which shows are on during your visit!

History

greektownGreek immigrants came to this area after WWI and by the 1970s and 80s, it was the largest GreekTown in North America. There was also a large influx of Greek immigrants during the 1960s, as they were fleeing the political and economic unrest which resulted in the Greek military junta seized power in 1967-74.  This neighborhood became home to one of the highest concentrations of Greek immigrants living outside of Greece.

How to Get There

Greektown is located on the TTC Bloor-Danforth Subway line and can be accessed from Pape, Chester or Donlands stations. If you are visiting in a car, you can reach Danforth avenue by taking the Bayview/Bloor exit off the Don Valley Parkway and following the signs for Danforth Avenue/Bloor Street.

What’s your favourite Greektown spot? Let us know in the comments below.
