DelSuites
Resources for COVID-19
For over 10 years, the Furniture Bank has been furnishing homes for women and children, the homeless and refugees in the GTA. The Furniture Bank collects and redistributes donations of gently used furniture and household items to people in need. The proceeds assist in the development of job related skills, providing the opportunity to develop skills and learn a trade.
DelSuites has been a consistent corporate donor of gently-used furniture. As we upgrade many of our suites with new furniture as part of our continuous improvement, we in turn redistribute our used items to charity. Along with the Furniture Bank, DelSuites has a strong commitment to Reduce, Re-use and Recycle and has impacted the amount of waste sent to landfills.
A Toronto-based organization run by women is a place of temporary refuge and support for women and children who are escaping a range of abusive situations such as physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. For 27 years, Ernestine's has been promoting abuse awareness, education and advocates for early intervention and prevention.
Daily Bread Food Bank is a non-profit, charitable organization that is fighting to end hunger in our communities. Every year thousands of people across Toronto rely on food banks. Daily Bread serves these people through neighbourhood food banks and meal programs in over 170 member agencies.
Together with Tridel, DelSuites collects a $5 minimum donation from each staff member participating in "Casual Fridays," a Business Casual & Denim Day that falls every last Friday of each month. Proceeds go towards the BOLT Fund which aims to provide scholarships and other support for youth pursuing careers in the construction industry. In 2010, our goal was to provide one scholarship. With the support of each and every one, we are proud to announce that we exceeded our goal and provided 5 scholarships to help these youth pursue their dreams through education.
